Personal biography

I don’t believe I have a right to be successful, I believe I have to work at it, Neil Barnfather, entrepreneur.

Neil Barnfather is a blind businessman from the Buckinghamshire area of England. He currently serves as an independent consultant and has successfully founded and developed 19 individual start-ups within a broad range of business areas, including; telecommunications, FinTech, AI/ML, M&A, right through to customer journey CX and other user sentiment focused processes.

Alongside the continuous development of his businesses, Neil managed to achieve:

  • an MSc in Economics & Marketing (London School of Economics)
  • a BA (Hons) in Business Administration (The Open University)
  • a BSc Engineers Degree in Systems Architecture (The Arla Institute)
  • an HND in Business Management (West Kent College)

Neil received an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list (2014). He had represented the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) as a UK Business Ambassador between 2004 and 2012, and was recognised as an Industry Leader CEO by Top Hosts in 2007, as well as receiving a Special Merit Award in the Serial Entrepreneur category of the inaugural Great British Entrepreneur Awards (2013). He is currently ranked 10th in the business category on The List – Britain’s most influential and powerful disabled people as collated by DNS and is also listed on the Power 100 (2014/15/16).

He is a Fellow of:

  • The Chartered Institute of Marketing,
  • The Institute of Directors and,
  • The Institute of Leadership and Management.

Born in Buckinghamshire, Neil grew up in the West Midlands. He has since returned to the Buckinghamshire area where he lives with his wife and their children. His passion for profitable enterprise, genuine parity and effective policy drive his professional, philanthropic and political ventures.

Being with my family and watching my children grow up is my deepest pleasure. My wife reminds me to be humble, my children keep my feet on the ground, Neil Barnfather, husband and father.
